Quango Mouse (1984-1985)

Claughton (Wirral) based band formed in 1984 as Brilliant Corners and featuring Dave Barnes (vocals), Phil Turner (guitar), Andy Heywood (bass), Rob Smith (percussion, vocals), Rachel Williams (keyboards, vocals), and Ray Davies (drums). Recorded a couple of demos, the first recorded live, the second done in a studio and released in 1985. It also included the song No Shelter in the City, also featured in this compilation Sons of Jobs for the Boys (1985). Their music has been defined as an original and impressive blend, ranging from r’n’b, rock, jazz and funk.
